No-Fail Stew


Note:     Got some chunks from an old sway-backed buck or mangy moose? Toss them in the
    pot with the rest of these ingredients, and prepare for a feast that will bring you guests to their
    knees begging for more.

Servings: 6 to 8

Ingredients: 3 lbs. venison, cut in 1 inch chunks
                  2 yellow onions, diced
                  1/2 tsp. salt
                  1/2 tsp. garlic salt
                  1 tsp. black pepper
                  1 large can tomato sauce
                  4 celery sticks, diced
                  1/2 head cabbage, chopped
                  3 tomatoes, chopped
                  1 tsp. soy sauce
                  1 dash Liquid Smoke
                  1 Dash Taco sauce
                  1/2 cup dry red wine (optional)
                  1 package chicken gravy mix
                  1 package brown gravy mix
                  1 package Au Jus mix
                  1 can corn
                  1 green pepper, diced
                  3 potatoes, diced
                  3 carrots, diced

          Place venison, onions, salt, garlic salt, pepper, tomato sauce, celery and cabbage in pan or slow cooker, and cook 2 1/2 to 3 hours. Add tomatoes, soy sauce, Liquid Smoke, taco sauce, wine, all package mixes, corn, and green peppers and cook another 45 minutes. Add potatoes and carrots, and cook an additional 20 to 30 minutes until potatoes are tender.
